Wantedly and Make School, a leader in practical Computer Science educational programs have entered into a business alliance

Wantedly today announced that it has entered into a capital and business alliance agreement with Make School, a software engineering and product development school founded in Silicon Valley.

About this alliance

Founded in 2012, Make School is a Computer Science educational program that empowers their students to solve real-world problems by building products and help grow engineers, entrepreneurs, and creators.

Make School runs a two-year university alternative program called ‘Product College’ in San Francisco and a six-week course called ‘Summer Academy’ in various cities worldwide. Their unique, hands-on learning environment attracts students not only from America but from all around the world.

Wantedly, striving to ‘Create a World where World drives Passion’, resonated with Make School’s educational philosophy of ‘incubating a sense of purpose and connectedness to the real world’. With a shared understanding that social value of ‘product creators’ will rise, Wantedly and Make School concluded a capital and business alliance tie-up.

Through this business alliance, Wantedly and Make School will leverage their strengths and know-how to assist more people to find work that drives their passion.

Plans for the business alliance:

  • Recruiting programming school participants and business partners in America
  • Career development assistance for Make School alumni

Comments by Akiko Naka (Founder, Wantedly)

"Wantedly has been striving to Create a World where Work drives Passion by assisting people in discovering their mission. For work to drive passion, what’s important is not only discovering your mission, but also brushing up your skills. In other words, education is also very important. To strengthen career education and skill acquisition, Wantedly began ‘Wantedly Education Program’ last November. Through collaboration and cooperation with universities, we have been assisting in career education. This alliance with Make School is a continuation of our efforts."

"Today, the importance of product building skills such as programming and UIUX design is rising but there are not many organizations that provide opportunities to acquire these skills. It is very significant for us and I am happy to have formed this collaborative alliance with Make School, an educational provider of technological skills. Through this alliance, I hope to provide educational opportunities to as many people as possible and move one step closer to Creating a World where Work drives Passion."

Comments by Jeremy Rossman (Founder, Make School)

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Wantedly. Our partnership will give Make School students access to international job opportunities and help us recruit beyond the United States."
