Morofuji, the founder of Reapra, established S.M.S. Co., Ltd. in 2003. For 11 years, he served as Representative Director and CEO, leading the company's growth including its listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange First Section and expansion into Asia. However, behind the success of S.M.S., Morofuji felt a sense of incongruity about being in a leadership position when he believed himself to be "nobody special (not excelling at anything in particular)." Having been naturally interested in the complexity of society from his upbringing, he was motivated by two key questions: 'Why was I, who am "nobody special," able to succeed?' and 'How can I structurally understand the complex causal relationships that lead to the birth of industries?' With these motivations, he launched Reapra in Singapore in 2015. We aim to bridge "research" and "practice" - two fields that tend to be disconnected from each other - to cultivate industries that will have long-term impact and pass them on to the next generation. With this vision, we at Reapra work as one team across Japan and Southeast Asia, confronting complex markets and diverse communities.
