IMT Lucca Game Design Summer School
During the Game Design Summer School at IMT Lucca, I had an enriching experience that broadened my understanding of game design and development. The program, funded by DAAD, provided a unique opportunity to engage with an international cohort of students and professionals in a highly collaborative environment. Throughout the summer school, I participated in workshops and lectures led by industry experts, covering various aspects of game design, from narrative development and mechanics to user engagement and interface design. The hands-on sessions allowed me to apply these concepts in real-time, working on small game projects with diverse teams One of the highlights was exploring the intersection of game design with psychology, human-computer interaction, and storytelling. This multidisciplinary approach helped me to think critically about how games can evoke emotions and enhance user experiences. The DAAD funding not only covered my participation but also facilitated networking opportunities, where I connected with peers from different cultural and academic backgrounds, exchanging ideas and discussing the future of gaming. The beautiful setting of IMT Lucca, with its historic architecture and academic atmosphere, made the experience even more memorable. Overall, the Game Design Summer School was a pivotal moment in my academic and professional journey, significantly influencing my approach to game development and interactive design.
