Why we do

The gaming world is becoming more and more global, with AAA titles now launching simultaneously across the globe. Japanese players, who once mainly enjoyed domestically made games, now readily embrace and enjoy major international titles. As a result, the importance of localization is growing every day. But our mission goes beyond simple translation—we aim to “deliver excitement.” By carefully translating the original work into Japanese that resonates, we can convey the story’s thrills and emotions as powerfully, if not more so, than the original. At PTW Japan K.K, our strength lies in the planning and production capabilities we’ve honed through our extensive experience in producing hundreds of titles. We're committed to our mission of “delivering emotions” to players. To do that, we believe it's essential to continuously refine and elevate our services.

How we do

These days, most new game titles are developed with a global audience in mind. For titles that launch simultaneously worldwide, the schedule is especially tight since localization happens alongside the main production. We fully understand that “game development is a race against time.” In today’s fast-paced industry, localization needs to hit the mark on three fronts: “efficiency,” “speed,” and “quality.” As a full-service localization company, PTW Japan has built a one-stop environment where we handle everything from translation and voice recording to QA. With this setup, we’re taking on the challenge of our mission to “deliver excitement,” all while keeping pace with the industry's rapid demands!

As a new team member

Job description: -Support the customer service operations including but not limited to evaluating, monitoring, analyzing of results, and implementing any changes. -Perform language translation and proofreading where necessary. -Respond and support players issues via chat and email, including but not limited to password resets and more. -Business hours: Shift based - 11:00-20:00/12:00-21:00 - 40 hours a week. -Support 365 days a year including weekends and holidays (shift work). Requirements: -Bilingual English/ Japanese language ability (Reading, writing and speaking) OR -Native/Fluent Traditional/Simplified Chinese + Fluent english + JLPT N3 or Daily conversation level Japanese -Passionate about the video game industry Nice to have: -Experience in translation and/or localization is appreciated. -Customer service (nice to have) and/or video game, travel support, help desk, technical support experience within an email contact center environment. -Able to understand games from a gamer’s perspective.
