A young man who has lost his lover visits the Kurokawa Onsen village, in the backwoods region of Japan's Mt. Aso, where she used to love to go. As he journeys through the mountainside, the figure of a girl appears before the young man. She looks exactly like the legendary ancient dancer from the myths that have been handed down since ancient times in Japan. Aso, Japan. We decided to depict the most fascinating "person" in Kurokawa, using the legends and folklore of Japan and Kurokawa that had passed down from ancient times as a base. Budgeting was left entirely to the discretion of each creator on an individual basis whilst the residents of Kurokawa provided accommodation, amenities and food for the crew whilst on location. The Japanese cast is comprised entirely of people actually living in Aso.
