Sumika Davidson

Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan

My name is Sumika Davidson and I am currently a sophomore at Brown University studying Applied Mathematics. As a dual U.S.-Japanese citizen raised in both countries, I have strong language skills in Japanese and English (intermediate skills in Spanish), and am adept at being a bridge between disparate cultures.

Ambition

In the future

A main difference between the United States and Japan is the lack of an entrepreneurial culture in Japan. This has been detrimental to the Japanese economy and has also contributed to making Japan a weaker global power. I hope to be able to eventually use my international perspective to my advantage and help develop a stronger and more open startup culture in Japan.
