Hello there! I'm Shoko.
I hope to work in the field with development initiatives conducted by international/local NGOs or corporations. I hope to help bring change and provide opportunities to those that currently do not have the chance to.
I provided a system to aid the children in Kyoto, Japan who do not have access to quality education by organising a book drive through school. I created a committee to help donate the books from school and also from students' homes to an organisation called 山科醍醐こどものひろば (kodomono hiroba), which will provide additional education to the children.
Took part in a training program within the junior education sector of the firm, which specialises in creating educational materials for children with mental and physical disability. This opportunity allowed me to gain a new insight into what education should be for all children, and the scope to interact with children with the best intent to bring out their best abilities.
Worked along side a team from JICA (Japan International Corporation Agency) and JOICFP (Japanese Organisation for International Cooperation in Family Planning) to help run a 3 week training program regarding maternal and child health for doctors and national health leaders from Ghana, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Myanmar.
