Relativity
This project looks at poetic ways to translate science ideas to design, using design as a method to visualise and articulate the ideas of science, Einstein’s Theory of Relativity to be more specific. The project is made of three books, that originated from The book Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, separating the book up into threes, according to the chapters. All three books explore the idea of applying light and time through out each process. The project draws ideas from experiential/immersive design. Such as projects done by Team Lab in Japan, with their exhibitions using projectors, and stage set up. Also DIA studio from the US. However this project takes a different approach by looking at experiencing the content or idea, through the analogue format of a publication. The objective is to create an experiential design, where the audience can engage with the ideas of relativity, and being immersed. A key part of this design is also the time taken to create it, both from the designer’s perspective, and the time it takes for the user to get through the books.
