Circa Resort & Casino to debut in downtown Las Vegas
Developers and brothers Derek Stevens and Greg Stevens have officially announced plans for Circa Resort & Casino, a new integrated gaming resort in Downtown Las Vegas that is scheduled to open in December 2020. As a welcome sign to the iconic Fremont Street Experience, Circa will breathe new energy into Downtown with its first ground resort development in the region since 1980. The innovative property will celebrate the timeless spirit of the city while leading the charge for a bold new era with game-changing guest offerings. "There is a lot of unmet demand for fun in Las Vegas," said Derek Stevens. "Our goal at Circa is to create a destination resort in a historic part of the city, showing guests the time of their lives. We plan to double down on the global service Las Vegas is always known for, taking the personalized experience to a new level." Over the past decade, Derek has worked with Greg to develop several ventures, including D Las Vegas, Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, and the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center. The pair's investment has played a role in reshaping Downtown Las Vegas and driving the success story of "Vintage Vegas" transition, attracting a new wave of visitors and locals. Often found time to greet visitors and interact with them at the centerpiece bar of his property, Derek's truly accessible style of guest appreciation challenged the status quo of resort ownership and was loved by customers. What's your name? In the spirit of staying true to the city, Circa will deliver a new experience that is based on the original principles of old-fashioned Vegas hospitality. It will celebrate the city's golden age by blending the charm of vintage Vegas with modern luxuries and cutting-edge technology. Guests can expect top-notch entertainment while enjoying honest, attentive, and friendly service. Paying tribute to the city's vibrant history, Circa will nod to Las Vegas legends over the decades, from the visionaries behind the first gambling house on Fremont Street to the Streep's preeminent destination resort. fancy amenities Designed for those looking for the ultimate Las Vegas vacation, Circa will boast thoughtful amenities including 777 rooms and suites, a variety of eclectic restaurants, the Fremont Street Experience's longest outdoor bar, a rejuvenating spa, and a two-stage casino with state-of-the-art slots and table gaming options. Circa has collaborated with Stillman Partners to oversee architecture and design, Tre Builders as construction manager, and McCarthy Building Components Inc. as a contractor. Cirque will be home to a state-of-the-art parking structure called the "Gargo Mahal," specifically designed with ridesharing in mind. The nine-story garage, which is centrally located to accommodate the growing use of Uber and Lyft and 1,201 parking spaces, will be the first in downtown Las Vegas. Another signature element will be a multi-level stadium-style sportsbook with the largest screen in sportsbook history. The Stevens brothers recently announced a partnership with the sports game media organization Vegas Stats and Information Network (ViN) to provide in-house broadcast studios to Circa. This will allow bettors to do an in-depth analysis from a roster of experts, including broadcasters, industry experts, and players. Currently, the 1.25 million-square-foot property is under construction, which will bore a hole in the Las Vegas skyline to the tallest tower north of the strip. The resort will be defined by its bold design with accents with a backlight loop line and an extended multi-story pool amphitheater. Featuring multiple pools and a giant screen with the latest high-resolution technology, the amphitheater will offer a unique watch party atmosphere for visionaries and sports fans. The venue will be complemented by a delicious food and drink menu, private cabanas, and music from DJs and special guests. The interior of Circa will welcome back the Las Vegas icon. Once perched aloft above the Fremont Street Experience, the kicking cowgirl, Vegas Vickie, will be a major design feature and essential photo opportunity for the hotel lobby. Grand Review After months of speculation, Cirque's name, design, and neon signs were revealed during last night's festive evening. After appearing at his 2019 annual State of the Union address, Derrick invited attendees to throw an after party at the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center, where he promised to reveal completely new details about his upcoming project. Derek was joined on stage at the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center by Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman during the public celebration. Among the enthusiastic onlookers were many city and state officials, real estate executives, community partners, and Las Vegas founding members, including Freddie Sarno, son of casino developer Jay Sarno; Nevada Stupac, son of casino owner Bob Stupac; Michael and Brendan Gordon, son and grandson of hotel and casino magnate Jackie Gordon; and Jimmy Vacaro, a legendary bookmaker. The grand reveal came after a thrilling introductory video that ends up with the unveiling of a giant neon sign bearing the property's name that will eventually become part of Cirque's exterior. Known for his diverse collection of custom blazers in Las Vegas, Derek was not disappointed as he wore a custom tuxedo complete with Cirque's logo-marked jacket.
