社会一年目のわたし / My First Year in the Workforce
私の社会人最初の仕事は、英会話スクールの受付兼事務でした。
大学で英語を専攻し、卒業後地元へのUターンを決めたものの、東京のようには英語を活かせる職種が多くなく、選択肢がとても限られていました。
その中で、どうにか英語に関わる仕事がしたいと見つけた英会話スクールの仕事。受付兼事務といっても、基本的にスクール運営の全般に携わっていたので、外国人講師の授業のサポートや生徒のサポート、なにか気に入らなかったのか泣き止まない生徒を必死になだめたり、車を持っていない外国人講師の病院付き添いをしたり、とにかく「受付兼事務」のジョブロールに収まらない仕事を毎日やっていました。
My career started as a receptionist and administrator at an English language school. Having majored in English at university, I decided to move back to my hometown after graduation. However, unlike Tokyo, job opportunities where I could use English were extremely limited. Driven by my desire to work with the language, I found this position at the language school. Although my job title was "receptionist and administrator," I was essentially involved in every aspect of running the school. My daily tasks went far beyond my official role—from supporting foreign instructors and assisting students, to desperately comforting crying students, and taking foreign teachers to hospital visits since they didn't have cars. Every day brought something new and dynamic beyond my original job scope.

あの時代からもう少しで10年……
「10年」の響きはずしんときますね。
Almost 10 years have passed since then... The weight of "10 years" certainly feels significant.
その10年間で、私は色々なことに挑戦し、経験をしてきました。
Over the past decade, I have challenged a lot, and gathered a wide range of experiences.
それまで留学などの経験がなかった私は、初めてカナダという地で海外長期滞在を経験し、現地のお店で働いたことで大学時代よりも飛躍的に英語力が伸びました。
Having never studied abroad before, living long-term in Canada was my very first time abroad. By working at a local business, my English skills improved far more dramatically than they ever did during my university years.
帰国後はデザインスクールに通い、基本的なグラフィックデザインスキルをに見つけてデザイナーとして就職。2年間紙媒体をメインにグラフィックデザイナーとして従事したのち、社内転籍でWeb制作の世界へ。
Upon returning to Japan, I attended a design school to learn graphic design fundamentals and landed my first job as a designer. After two years of working primarily on print media, I made an internal transfer into the world of web production.
そこからのWebデザイナーとしての2年間は、デザインだけでなく開発者としてコードを書き、サイト運営・管理をしたり、SEOをあれこれ分析してみたり……ここでの経験が、Webやアプリの世界って楽しい、もっと知りたい！と思わせてもらえたきっかけでした。
During my two years as a web designer, I went beyond design—writing code as a developer, managing site operations, and experimenting with SEO strategies. It was this hands-on experience that made me realize how exciting web and app development is, triggering my strong desire to dive deeper into this field.
そして今、これまでポツ、ポツと点在していた英語、デザイン、Webすべてをまとめ上げてさらにパワーアップさせるべく、東京のコーディングブートキャンプスクール・Le Wagon Tokyoでフルスタックなテックスキルを学んでいます。
And now, to bring together those separate dots—English, design, and web—and power them up, I am learning full-stack tech skills at Le Wagon Tokyo, a coding bootcamp in Tokyo.
この１０年で私のキャリアや経験はすごく変化したけど、新しいことを学ぶ好奇心はずっと変わらず持ち続けられたから、今の私があると思います。
また次の1年後、５年後、10年後を振り返った時に、「あの時たくさん頑張ってよかった！」と思えるよう、今を全力で頑張っていきたいです。

Over the past decade, my career and experiences have transformed significantly, but my curiosity to learn new things has remained unchanged—and that is what brought me to where I am today.
Looking back 1, 5, or 10 years from now, I want to say, "I'm so glad I gave it my all back then!" That's why I am giving my everything to the present moment.
