The refrigeration cycle, which consists of the evaporator, compressor, condenser, and expansion valve, is the fundamental part of a commercial heat pump. The heat pump moves heat from the inside air to the exterior while it is in cooling mode. Refrigerant is first allowed to evaporate in the evaporator coil, compressed to raise its temperature, and then the heat is released outdoors via the condenser coil.
