Mr. Cherng is a retired Taiwan Armed Forces Colonel who served 22 years within military Information Technology (IT) and intelligence related governmental agencies. The final 14 years were within the space technology domain; two years within the Information Technology (IT) department and twelve years in remote sensing ground station operations, Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) operations and policy development.

In command of the overall management of daily ongoing operations for both mobile and fixed ground stations. In addition, oversaw the coordination of local and international suppliers and contractors for the delivery of quality services on time and within budget.
Oversaw the development of advanced GEOINT techniques and procedures, along with introducing newly created GEOINT processes and products.
Ground stations’ system maintenance management. Overseeing and auditing the daily performance of engineers and contractors to minimize the down-time of ground stations. Also designed a set of new maintenance procedures to increase the performance of engineers and minimize the cost overruns.
As a senior operation lead of the multi-satellite ground station at FRSC, I was responsible for the ground stations end-to-end operation management. Designed all necessary procedures for daily operations, along with coordination and management of different field engineers and specialists to perform time critical operations.
