Work in Japan, Beyond the Ordinary: Join Radish Ride in Miura
Looking for a job in Japan that feels a little different?
Imagine starting your working day near the sea, meeting travellers from around the world, and helping them discover a side of Japan they might never have found on their own.
Instead of spending every day behind a desk, you could be out exploring quiet country roads, green vegetable fields and coastal scenery on the Miura Peninsula.
Welcome to Radish Ride.
What is Radish Ride?
Radish Ride is a guided self-drive tour based in Miura, Kanagawa Prefecture, about an hour from Tokyo.
Our guests drive their own compact, open-top electric vehicles while our guides lead the way. Along the route, we help visitors discover the landscapes, local character and everyday beauty of the Japanese countryside.
Our philosophy is simple:
You drive. We guide.
We want visitors to experience authentic Japan beyond the usual tourist destinations — and to leave with memories they couldn't have made by simply following a sightseeing map.
What would you do?
As part of our team, you may help with:
- Welcoming international guests and communicating in English.
- Leading tours and helping guests enjoy the route safely.
- Introducing local scenery, culture and the character of Miura.
- Preparing vehicles and supporting daily operations.
- Taking photos and videos for guests and our social media.
- Sharing ideas to improve the guest experience and grow the business.
The exact balance of responsibilities depends on your role, skills and operational needs.
Why join us?
Work with people from around the world. English is an important part of the guest experience, and you can use it in real conversations every day.
Experience a different side of Japan. Miura offers a slower, more local atmosphere than central Tokyo, with the sea, farmland and open countryside close by.
Be part of a growing business. We are building a distinctive tourism experience, so there is room to contribute ideas and help improve how we operate.
Make your time in Japan meaningful. If you are here on a working holiday, this could be an opportunity to gain practical work experience while discovering a part of the country beyond the big cities.
Who are we looking for?
We are interested in people who enjoy meeting others, take safety seriously, communicate clearly and are willing to help wherever needed.
You do not need to be a professional tour guide. A positive attitude, reliability and a genuine interest in sharing Japan with international visitors matter a great deal.
However, driving duties require an appropriate, valid driving licence. Please read our eligibility requirements before applying.
Is this the right opportunity for you?
Radish Ride may suit you if you enjoy the outdoors, like working with people, and want a role that combines hospitality, local discovery and hands-on teamwork.
It is not a travel package or a working-holiday accommodation programme. Applicants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation and confirming that they meet Japan's work and driving requirements.
If this sounds like your kind of experience, we'd love to hear from you.
Come and help us show the world another side of Japan.
