While working for Fujifilm, I was responsible of the technological development of the Imagine project : a new versatile, cloud powered, entirely customizable printing kiosk system. The printing station has been deployed to dozens of retails, print shops, and electronics stores in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. While I was in charge of the technical aspects like machine setup, software configuration and installation, I also had to assume most of the service support, train new staff and "super users" clients, and analyse the market using sales and other metrics. I was rapidly entrusted with a lot of freedom, which allowed me to redo from scratch a lot of parts of the system. Additionally, I was involved in the B2B sales either first hand when initiating contact with my known network of retails, or when demoing the system on fairs and in the showroom. To ensure a smoother internal working environment, I also took care of streamlining a lot of processes using cloud based administrative apps, forms and dynamic spreadsheets. The communication between the small team I was greatly improved, but I would have loved to go beyond using better communication channels like Slack. Alas, such big companies have a lot of restrictions and standards. As I am relocating in Japan, I leave behind me a project that grew manyfold since I arrived, and that seems on track to lots of great sale opportunities. Most importantly, it is also a lot clearer and easier to manage, making the system much more easy to configure and deploy fast.
