Perks don't factor into what I look for in a team. I care about whether design gets a real seat at the table and whether feedback is specific enough to actually act on. People who ship work they're proud of, not just work that shipped on time, tend to be doing something right.
I've run my own studio for years, taking full ownership of every project from brief to final delivery. That builds a certain kind of discipline, but it also leaves a gap: nobody else in the room to catch what you miss, or see the problem from an angle you didn't consider.
A good team fills that gap. I want people who push back when I'm wrong and ask harder questions than I'd ask myself. That kind of friction, done well, is what turns decent work into work everyone's actually proud of.
