🚀 My Learning Journey: From Curiosity to Career Shift
Hello! I'm Sukumal Plaengrat, and I’d love to share my learning journey — from navigating various roles to discovering my passion for design and technology, and how I’ve been shaping a new career path with intention.
🌱 Where It Started
After working in customer support and localization for the gaming and tech industry, I realized that while I enjoyed helping users, I was deeply curious about how digital products are designed and built. That curiosity grew into a passion — I wanted to move from supporting the user experience to creating it.
🎨 Discovering UX/UI Design
In 2024, I began learning UX/UI design through online platforms and daily self-practice. I committed to small, consistent goals — even just 1 hour a day. Tools like Figma became my creative playground, and I joined “30 Days of UI” challenges to improve my visual and design thinking skills.
I also started learning HTML and CSS, understanding how interfaces are structured and styled. These skills helped me think more clearly about feasibility and developer collaboration.
🗼 Learning in Japan
Currently, I live in Tokyo and am studying Japanese (aiming for JLPT N2). Balancing language learning and career transition has been both challenging and rewarding. It has strengthened my ability to adapt, learn fast, and communicate across different cultures and teams.
🎓 Google Certifications
In addition to design, I also completed three professional certificate programs from Google:
- Project Management
- Data Analytics
- Business Intelligence
These programs gave me a strong foundation in understanding business goals, data-informed design, and how to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
📚 What I’m Focused on Now
- Building my UX/UI portfolio
- Improving frontend coding skills
- Studying Japanese for real-world communication
- Exploring job opportunities in design and tech, especially roles where I can grow into a Product Designer
🌟 Looking Ahead
My goal is to become a Product Designer who creates meaningful, user-centered experiences with a global perspective and a collaborative mindset.
If you’re looking for someone who blends design, data awareness, and international communication, I’d love to connect.
Let’s build something great together!
