What we do

GitLab has more than 1,300 team members in more than 67 countries. As part of the GitLab team, you can work from pretty much anywhere, and you'll have the freedom to contribute when and where you do your best work. Plus, you'll be part of an ambitious, kind, and productive team that embraces a set of shared values in everything that we do. GitLab is a DevOps platform built from the ground up as a single application for all stages of the DevOps lifecycle. This enables product, development, QA, security, and operations teams to work concurrently on the same project, significantly reducing cycle time and focus exclusively on building great software quickly.

Why we do

At GitLab we have one mission: Everyone can contribute. When everyone can contribute, consumers become contributors and we greatly increase the rate of human progress. We believe in giving our team members the autonomy, flexibility, and resources they need to do their best work. We’re globally distributed and use asynchronous communication to collaborate and achieve results. We’re deeply committed to our values, and they show up in everything we do.

How we do

GitLab's 100% remote culture and our workplace methodologies are highly unique. We have a shared set of values that guide our work and we give ourselves permission to truly operate differently. For some companies, having team members all over the world would make it difficult to maintain a cohesive company culture. But at GitLab, we're constantly finding new ways to stay connected as a team - through daily team calls, regional co-working days, virtual “watercooler” chats to get to know each other on a more personal level, general group conversations, "ask me anything" conversations with our leaders, and GitLab Contribute, our summit where the entire company gathers in a different city in the world each year (we’ve been to Greece, New Orleans, and Cape Town just to name a few places!). Another unique perk GitLab offers is a visiting grant, which encourages us to visit other team members around the globe. GitLab will contribute to the cost of flights, trains, and transportation to and from the airport, etc. We’ve had two team members take advantage of this and travel to 5 continents, 14 different countries, and 20 different cities to meet with 49 GitLab team members in six months. It's a great way to stay connected as we continue to grow as a company.
