Favorite Medium is a digital product consultancy specialising in web and mobile development. Established in 2007, we have designed and developed web and mobile products for clients all over the world in the energy, technology, healthcare, and financial services verticals. Our offices are in the US, Singapore, Japan, and Korea.

We are looking for a curious and methodical server-side software engineer to join our team. This position will focus on designing and crafting scalable web services and web applications. An ideal candidate will have 4+ years of work experience and deep knowledge of at least one object-oriented or functional programming language. This position is based in the Asia Pacific region. Requirements: * Fluency in Go, server-side JavaScript, Python, Scala or similar languages. * Substantial experience developing async web services and socket servers for high transaction environments. * Strong grasp of command line UNIX/Linux * Completely comfortable speaking and writing in English on a day-to-day basis. Basic Japanese language skills would be nice but are not required for this position. * Patience and strong communication skills Nice to have: * Active in the open source community * Consulting or other services experience * C, Java, or C++ * Exposure to any of the following: docker containers, node.js, Django, Sinatra, key-value data stores (Riak, Dynamo, BigQuery) * Prior experience working on a distributed team
