We are SpeakBUDDY, a company founded in 2013 to fulfill the mission of "expanding people's opportunities and life choices through true language acquisition". Since 2013, we have been devoted to developing apps and services that center around English Language Learning, including our AI English conversation app SpeakBuddy that was released in 2016. This app uses speech recognition, AI conversation, and digital speech technology, to allow our users to study English in an innovative way, through conversations with expressive and lively AI characters. In 2019, SpeakBuddy was ranked first place in the App Store's Education category, and in 2022, we surpassed 1.5 million downloads and are continuing to gain users to this day! Aside from the SpeakBuddy app, we have also released several other services including the SpeakBuddy Personal Coaching service in 2019, that allows users to study English with a personalized study plan and a professional online coach, as well as the new SpeakBUDDY English Learning Q&A Website in 2022, that allows users to have their questions about English Language Learning answered by professional coaches, and other English learners. Up until now, we have also raised a total of 800 million Japanese yen in funds, and are working towards our IPO in the near future.

◇A Product Born from our CEO's Personal Struggles with English Language Learning Our CEO Tsuyoshi Tateishi wasn't good at English. Despite that, after graduating from university, he found himself in a company with many overseas clients, where it was essential for him to master English. That's when he decided to seriously study and improve his English conversation skills, but he couldn't find any study materials that were high quality and actually yielded good results. After spending countless hours and a lot of money on these products and services, he still couldn't speak English nearly as fluently as he wanted to, and he wondered what it would be like to have a product that was effective at improving English speaking skills and easy to use. At that moment, the idea for SpeakBuddy was born! It is our mission to develop various products and services that solve the problems of our users who are learning to speak English, and expand the opportunities they can have in their lives by doing so.
