bitFlyer is one of the largest Bitcoin and blockchain company in Japan. We operate a virtual currency exchange and marketplace. We provide our customers with convenient and exciting ways to buy, sell and spend bitcoins.

Our mission is to make the world simpler through blockchain. bitFlyer was established in January 2014 in Tokyo. We have since established regional headquarters for the US in San Francisco and for the EU in Luxembourg. We are a fast-growing, dynamic and international team with a passion for virtual currency and blockchain technology.

Thirty percent of our engineers come from different countries and many internal discussions are performed in English. All of this comes together to create an environment overflowing with diversity. On the business side, we’ve brought together alumni from Goldman Sachs, Barclays Investment Banking, Credit Suisse, Mizuho Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, CyberAgent, GMO, Recruit Group, Square-Enix, video game development companies, the Harvard University MBA program, and many with experience working at corporations in other countries. On the engineering side, we have employees with experience at Google, Microsoft, Sony Entertainment, major social game providers, financial system integrators, and received recognitions such as the Mitou Project, Redcoder, and Microsoft MVP.

In the last months, in bitFlyer we have been redesigning our web front-end architecture, modernizing our tech stack to provide a better product for our users with improved security and UX. Our tech stack includes TypeScript, React and Next.js. Having a quality code base in the long term is very important for us. We use extended linting, testing and spend the necessary time to refactor and improve. We are looking for a web front-end engineer to join our team, with broad experience in TypeScript and React, who has worked in the same code base for at least 1.5 years and understands the importance of communication, code reviews and the implication of solutions in the long term.
